VegasTina ("the site") is a local news and community site for Koreans in Las Vegas. This policy explains what the site collects, what it is used for, how long it is kept, and what you can ask for.
1. What we collect
- Signing up: your nickname, email address and password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash, so nobody, the admins included, can read it.
- Your profile (optional): display name, bio, area, link and profile picture.
- What you post: posts, comments, likes, restaurant reviews, photos, job, buy-and-sell and rental listings, restaurants you send in, and reports. Contact details in a listing are shown only to signed-in members.
- Messages and ads: the name, business, email, phone and message you send through the contact form, and the pictures and links of ads you book.
- Connection details: your IP address, used only to limit sign-in attempts (deleted within 10 minutes) and to stop abuse of the contact form (kept with the message).
- Visitor numbers: we count how many people visit each day. Only a one-way code made from the date, the IP address and the browser is kept, never the address itself, and the next day the same person cannot be recognized. Browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are not counted.
- Cookies: only two: one that keeps you signed in and protects forms (up to 30 days) and one that remembers your language (1 year). No advertising or tracking cookies, and no outside analytics.
2. What it is used for
Running your account, providing the boards, news and dining pages, sending password-reset links and sign-in codes, answering messages and running ads, preventing spam and abuse and handling reports, and knowing how many people visit.
3. What is public
Your nickname, profile, posts, comments, reviews and photos can be seen by anyone. Your email address is never shown.
4. Services we work with
The site uses these services, which store or carry information on its behalf only:
- Vercel: hosts the site (United States)
- Supabase: database and photo storage (United States)
- An email service chosen by the admin (for example Google Gmail) for password resets, sign-in codes and notices about new messages
Weather, exchange rates and news are fetched by the site's server; no visitor information is sent with them. If headline translation is on, only news headlines are sent to Anthropic, never member information.
5. We do not sell or share it
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not give it to advertisers. Ads are pictures with links; the site counts how many times an ad is clicked, not who clicked. Clicking an ad takes you to the advertiser's own site, where their policy applies. We disclose information only when the law requires it.
6. How long it is kept
- Account details: until the account is deleted
- Posts, comments and reviews: until you delete them or they are removed under the Terms
- Messages sent through the contact form: until an admin deletes them
- Sign-in attempts and sign-in codes: 10 minutes
- Visitor numbers: about 13 months
- Database backups kept in case of an accident: the last 8 weeks
7. What you can ask for
- On your account page you can change your profile and password, and you can delete your own posts and comments.
- For a copy of your information, a correction, or to delete your account, use the contact form, choose "Account & privacy", and write from the email you signed up with. We will confirm it is you, then do it.
- Nevada residents: the site does not sell personal information. You may still send an opt-out request the same way.
8. Children
The site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
9. Security
Every connection is encrypted with HTTPS and passwords are stored only as hashes. You can turn on sign-in codes by email (two-step sign-in) on your account page. No method on the internet is perfectly safe, though.
10. Changes
When this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date.
